The Rockwall Kiwanis Club proudly announces the resounding success of the 25th Annual Tri-Rock Triathlon, held on August 4, 2024, at the J.E.R. Chilton YMCA. This year’s event marked a significant milestone with great participation, boasting 301 athletes, a remarkable 30% increase from last year. Participants ranged from first-time triathletes to seasoned veterans, with 211 athletes making their triathlon debut and 90 returning to take on the challenge once again. The event drew competitors from outside the metroplex, with 104 athletes traveling to Rockwall, including 7 from out of state. The average age of participants was 40, with a diverse group comprising 60% male and 40% female athletes. We are proud of our very own, Dr. Matt Claggett, a member of the Rockwall Kiwanis Club, impressively securing 3rd place in his class.
The Tri-Rock Triathlon serves as a major fundraiser for the Food 4 Kids program, ensuring that children in Rockwall have access to nutritious meals. This year’s success would not have been possible without the generous contributions from our sponsors and the enthusiastic participation of the community.
